We are a small cattery in Lugo, north of Spain. We dedicate some of our time to a true passion: breeding norwegian forest cats (nfos). Our registered name in FIFe is Val de Cambs*ES, with number 2062.

Val de Cambs derives from Val de Camba. It's a region in heart of Galicia, precisely where we were born.


We have chosen this name, because almost all people here love the place where they are born. It's a natural feeling to all of us. Besides living in Galicia, we don't live specifically in the place we wanted.

Our project has two mains foundations:

HEALTHY AND BALANCED CATS:

In our point of view, all breeder should try to obtain the perfect cat, that is, Pan's Trul, the cat that has given the norwegian forest cat his known standard.

Well, it's also true that is impossible to get the perfect cat. We search for the well-balanced and not the perfect one: strong, healthy, big and large cats. They must have a well-shaped head and the typical nordic coat. We are searching for cats with that wild look. Felines who make us remember the lynx that beats in the heart of all norwegian forest cats.

The character is also very important. The nfo should be calm and sociable, showing with his look and expression the wild cat sleeping inside him. This combination is what made us fell in love with this incredible feline.

GOOD OWNERS:

It's fundamental to us to find conscient owners, intelligent enough to realise they take with them a part of our life.

They should be aware they do not take a part of our family to their homes but also a legacy. The nfo is part of a populacion that should be preserved, spared to misguided matings and conserved pure, so that our sons and the sons of ours sons can have the pleasure to have a friend like these.

This is the meaning of breeding for us. We have a great responsability in our habds. We must preserve the breed, trying to improve it with studied matings, never prefering outside beauty and perfection to their health.

These two foundations transform Val de Cambs also into a philosofy, a style of life, no only a cattery.

Is one of these two is forgotten... Val de Cambs will be extinguished as a cattery.
